It's not green cheese, but it might as well be.
The Dutch national museum said Thursday that one of its prized possessions, a rock supposedly brought back from the moon by U.S. astronauts, is just a piece of petrified wood.
Rijksmuseum spokeswoman Xandra van Gelder, who oversaw the investigation that proved the piece was a fake, said the museum will keep it anyway as a curiosity.
"It's a good story, with some questions that are still unanswered," she said. "We can laugh about it."
Science theory and forensic science are highly connected. Let's take for example the above fake moon rock. This calls into question the moon landings and the theory of the moon being a chunk of the earth spun off by collision. 27 Oct. 2025.

The solar system is rushing through the dusty space at 670 times the speed of sound. After a visit to the University of Tromsø and the radar station EISCAT before the weekend, I got a new perspective on what micro-meteorites can be.
Interstellar comets and meteoroids appear to be much more common than previously thought. The question is, have we already found interstellar micro-meteorites? On a Norwegian roof?
I wrote a little article about this on the Project Stardust Patreon. Tune in to learn more. This is at least as exciting as an Easter crime scene, and much funnier!
